Mobile Learning Sandbox

This box will feature mobile learning applications, tools and/or resources to try out or give a test run--hence the 'sandbox' label; we'll try to periodically feature and highlight different items that seem promising as useful in the mobile learning realm. The idea here is to feature a couple at a time so people in our pilot group have time to delve into them a bit.

  • The Last Backpack
    This blog maintained by Dr. Zachary Walker, currently a faculty member at the National Institute of Education in Singapore, is intended as a medium to provide mobile lesson plans, ideas, strategies, and inspiration for teaching what he calls the Last Backpack Generation because--according to Walker--this is the last generation that will need to carry backpacks.
  • Interactive Math Applications
    This is a site maintained by an Australian educator, Murray Bourne. Interactive Mathematics uses various math applets to enhance mathematics lessons.

    Topics range from grade 8 algebra to college-level Laplace Transformations.
